Calls for emergency power failure lights to be installed in homes after spate of outages
Do you think they should be?
Councillors have suggested that "emergency power failure lights be installed in homes" after a recent spate of outages in Carlow Town.
Electricity outages in parts of Carlow Town and its environs were discussed at the April meeting of Carlow County Council.
Members called on the ESB to resolve the issue while the problem of responsibility for cutting down trees that affect overhead power lines was also raised as well as the zoning of areas that would make it easier to detect faults.
Director of Services, Dan McInerney, advised that the issue of power outages will be raised at a meeting scheduled to be held with the ESB in relation to future investment in Carlow.
