'We feel it's time now to go and buy the tractor and trailor and get it on the road...'

A young Carlow man battling cancer - who wished for a tractor so he could raise money to buy toys for other kids in hospital - has now reached his fundraising target.

Brandon Bolger, 10, was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma – a rare disease affecting bone or soft tissue – last March and he needed €5,000 to make his kind-hearted dream come true.

He has been receiving strong doses of chemotherapy at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin every two weeks.

However Brandon will be delighted that he can finally get the tractor of his dreams and start his own fundraising.

In a statement on the Brandon Tractor Appeal Facebook Page, organisers said: "So just to let you know we withdrew the money from Brandon's GoFundMe Page, we've reached our target for the tractor and are almost there for the trailor, we feel it's time now to go and buy the tractor and trailor and get it on the road.

"Our next step when getting the tractor set up we'll raise money for presents for the kids in Crumlin and donating to various other charities who have been very good to Brandon.

"From Craig, Sandra, Brandon and little Craig as a family they can't thank each and every one of you enough for all the love, support and messages of kindness you've given to Brandon, without you none of this would be possible."
