Carlow Gardaí re-issue warning over bogus callers looking to defraud people as problem persists

Carlow Gardaí say they continue to receive complaints regarding phone scams where the fraudsters seek financial and personal details from people.

Bogus callers purporting to be from various companies including Revenue are ringing from a variety of numbers including 051 or 01 numbers.

Gardaí said: "These are scams, Hang up. If in doubt ring or call into the company the person is purporting to be from directly yourself.

"Do not use the number given to you by the caller. Make sure you hear a dial tone before making the call.
