Carlow Athlete wins Gold as part of sprint relay team at World Masters Championship

Carlow Athlete, Ken Pollard was apart of the men's 4x400m sprint relay team, who not only took home the gold medal in the World Masters Athletics but also broke the Irish record with a time of 3.33.69 in the event. The event took place in Sweden last Sunday.

They came home ahead of Australia in second, Sweden in third, and team Great Britain in 4th.

Aswell as the M45 Relay. 100+ Irish Masters athletes competed in the World Championships which hosted a record breaking 8,000 Athletes from 111 Countries. To bring home a gold medal is a massive achievement.

Fair play to all involved in this great achievement, especially Keith Pollard of St Lauerence O'Toole's Athletic Club in Carlow.
