Congratulations to Nurney Villa FC's U18 girls' team who done the club and more importantly, themselves, proud with a brilliant display to win the inaugural U18 girls' league on Wednesday night in Carlow. 

In a post on the club's WhatsApp group, they said: "Thanks to John Joe, Mark, Teresa for mentoring the girls throughout this year and in previous seasons.

"Also a big thanks to all the parents for their continued support.

"Finally, it was great to see the support the girls had from club members and we hope to see ye all again."

Nurney beat Ballymurphy 2-1 on Wednesday night to claim the crown.

The team, management and family members celebrated back in The Nurney Inn with pizzas for everyone!
