Gardaí appeal for information after assault on a student in Carlow Town

Two males made conversation with the victim first

Gardaí in Carlow are investigating an assault on a student at Carpenters Way in Carlow Town last Sunday evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 5pm when the injured party was walking and was approached by two males - one of whom was on a bicycle.

They made conversation with the victim and asked him the time and when he took out his phone the men attempted to steal it.

The injured party was assaulted during the incident but the suspects didn't get away with the phone. A witness is understood to have come to help the student. 

Gardaí in Carlow for appealing for information and to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident.
