Tributes paid for a 'true gentlemen' following Graiguecullen man's passing

Joseph (Joe) Purcell - Wednesday 12th June 2024

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Joseph (Joe) Purcell of St Fiacc's House, Graiguecullen, Carlow and formerly of Newtown, Crettyard, County Laois.

Joe passed away on June 12th 2024 in the gentle care of the District Hospital after many, many happy days in the wonderful care of Joan and all the staff of St Fiacc's House.

Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth. Sadly missed by his loving son Michael, Michael’s partner Tracy, niece Majella, nephews, nieces, relatives, residents and staff of St. Fiacc’s House and friends. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters.

Tributes have been paid on the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows:

"Rest in peace joe , you were always so friendly to all ,a true gentleman ,condolences to all joes family,

May your gentle soul rest in peace

Paddy"

Another reads: "So sorry to hear this very sad news Condolence to all the Family and extended Family Joe was a true Gentleman. May he rest in peace."

A third user writes: "It was our pleasure to spend the last few years knowing you Joe while in st fiaccs, may you have eternal rest with your beloved Liz, rest in peace!"

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing in St. Fiacc’s House Graiguecullen on Friday (June 14th) from 12noon to 1pm. Committal service on Friday at 3.45pm in Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harolds Cross, Dublin followed by cremation.

Family flowers only, please. Donations in lieu to the Friends of the District Hospital or St. Fiacc’s House
