Tributes paid to a 'true genuine friend' following the passing of Carlow native

Sean Byrne - Wednesday 7th August 2024

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Sean Byrne of , St. Patrick’s Park, Rathvilly, County Carlow and formerly of Portrition, Kiltegan, County Wicklow. 

Sean passed away peacefully at Naas Hospital surrounded by his loving sons on August 7th 2024.

Predeceased by his sister Maureen, infant sister Brigid and son Declan. Sadly missed by his sons Ken and Rory, brothers Kevin and Nicholas and sister Eilis, Gretta, Paul, Beverly and Laura, daughter-in-law Sallie-Anne, grandchildren Orla, Angus and Erin, his many nephews and nieces, extended family, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Tributes have been paid on the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Heart felt sympathy and condolence to all the Byrne family and extended family on the sad passing of Sean. A true genuine friend and gentleman. Sean you will be sadly missed.
RIP old friend."

Another reads: "Sincere sympathy to Kevin nick and eilish and all Sean family.sorry to hear this sad news.rest in peace Sean."

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing in Halligan’s Funeral Home, Station Road, Rathvilly (Eircode R93 C560) on Friday evening from 5pm concluding at 8pm. Funeral arriving to The Church of The Assumption, Tynock on Saturday morning for 11am Requiem Mass after which he will be laid to rest in Tynaclash Cemetery, Kiltegan.
