Bally Boys Brew: Brewing community spirit one cup at a time

If you’ve been around Stradbally GAA Club recently, you’ve probably spotted a welcoming new addition - Bally Boys Brew, the local coffee trailer that’s quickly becoming a favourite stop for locals of all ages.

Bally Boys Brew was created by lifelong Stradbally residents and friends Tom Shiel and Eoin Buggie, who spotted a simple but powerful idea: there’s a real appetite in the community for excellent, barista-quality coffee - but also for a friendly place to connect.

“We wanted something that felt familiar,” Tom explains. “A place you could pop into after training, on the school run, or whenever you needed a great coffee and a friendly hello.”

A Passion for People and Coffee

What sets Bally Boys Brew apart is not just the quality of the coffee, but the heart behind it. Tom and Eoin are both locals who know their neighbours — and want Bally Boys Brew to feel like a natural part of daily life here in Stradbally.

“We’re not just serving coffee, we’re creating a place for people to connect,” says Eoin. “It gives people in the community a reason to come out, have a chat, and see a familiar face. For some, it might be the only conversation they have that day — and that matters"

Since launching, that welcoming community vibe has been clear. Customers have come out shared stories, photos and rave comments on the Bally Boys Brew Instagram (@bally_boys_brew), showing that the trailer has quickly become a hub for community connection, laughs, and great coffee.

A Café-Level Experience on Wheels

Don’t let the trailer fool you - Bally Boys Brew delivers a café-quality experience from a compact setup. The team invested in professional espresso equipment, proper milk steaming gear, and an efficient layout so every drink - from flat whites to cappuccinos - hits the mark every time.

Coffee is the core of the menu, and Bally Boys Brew uses high-quality beans from Badger & Dodo, dialled in for consistency and flavour that keeps customers coming back.

The menu also features tasty treats supplied by Ann Simpsons shop, a local favourite. It’s another example of how Bally Boys Brew is committed not just to great coffee, but to supporting other local businesses too - a truly homegrown collaboration.

More Than a Coffee Stop - A Community Fixture

Although Bally Boys Brew is still in its early stages, the plan is ambitious and community focused. Tom and Eoin aim to grow alongside the area - popping up at local events, supporting sports clubs, and becoming a regular part of people’s routines.
