Tributes paid to a 'kind and warm character' following the passing of Carlow man

James (Jim) McDonnell - Thursday 31st October 2024

Tributes have been paid following the passing of James (Jim) McDonnell of Boherduff House, Bagenalstown, County Carlow.

Jim passed away suddenly but peacefully at his home on October 31st 2024.

Predeceased by his loving wife Geraldine.

Jim, much loved father of Aileen, Gillian and Paula.

Deeply regretted by his loving daughters Aileen, Gillian & Paula, grandchildren Roan, JP, Jerry, Freya, Jim & Anna, sons-in-law Vincent, Ken & Alan, loving sisters Pauline & Eleanor, brother Hugh, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, extended family & his many friends.

Tributes have been paid on the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"So very sorry to hear about Uncle Jim's passing. Such a kind and warm character who will be missed. Our love and thoughts are with you Aileen, Gillian, Paula and all the McDonnell family. May he rest in peace."

Another reads:

"Our sincere condolences to Aileen, Gillian, Paula, Pauline, and all the McDonnell family. Jim was a gentleman, he introduced me to fox hunting for which I will always be grateful.He was great company in all weathers. May he rest in peace, love and peace to all at this sad time."

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing at Kearney's Funeral Home, Fenagh on Sunday 3rd Nov. from 4pm until 7pm.

Requiem Mass on Monday 4th Nov. in Saint Patrick's Church, Newtown (R21 P206) at 11am,

followed by private cremation on Tuesday.

Family flowers only please.

Donations, if desired, to the Carlow Hunt for the upkeep of the hounds, that he loved so much.
