Tributes paid to Carlow native who was a 'true gentleman' following his passing

John Whitty - Oak Park, Carlow and formerly of Thurles - November 28th 2024

Tributes have been paid following the passing of John Whitty of Carlow and formerly of Thurles

John passed away peacefully St Luke's Hospital Kilkenny on the 28th of November 2024.

Dearly loved husband of Ann and adored father of Aedeen and Sinéad. Sadly missed by his loving wife, daughters, brother James, sons-in-law Seán and Keith, granddaughters Ellie, Amy, Molly, Ava and Lily, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Tributes have been paid on the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Sincere condolences to Ann Aedeen Sinead and extended family so sorry to hear of the passing of your father. I have lovely memories of our school days John was always nice gentleman and was one of the good ones the light of heaven to you John may you rest in peace"

Another reads:

"Sincere condolences to Ann, Aideen, Sinead and the extended Whitty family on the sad passing of John. A true gentleman and former colleague who will be missed by all who knew him Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time.
May John Rest in Peace."

Funeral arrangements 

Reposing at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Graiguecullen, (Eircode R93 ET80) on Thursday, November 28th, from 4pm concluding with Prayers at 8pm that evening. Funeral Mass on Friday at 10am in St Clare’s Church, Graiguecullen, followed by burial afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow.

Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to St Clare’s Hospitality Kitchen
