'What a character' Tributes paid following the passing of Carlow native

Eugene (Uggie) Williamson - Tullow Road and St. Mary’s Park, Carlow - January 13th 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Eugene (Uggie) Williamson of Tullow Road and St. Mary’s Park, Carlow.

Eugene (Uggie) passed away at St Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny on the 13th of January 2025.

Predeceased by his parents Paddy and Bridie, sisters Philomena, Joan, Esther, Kitty, Anne and by his brother Eddie. Sadly missed by his brothers Jim, Murty and Christy, sister Patricia, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.

Tributes have been paid in the comments section of Death Notices Carlow and read as follows: 

"Ahh man, what a character , the sitting room in the park was the changing room for Hanover Harps in the early years. Great times and great memories of a great man. Rest easy aul friend"

Another reads: 

"Rip uggie.. used ta have great ole craic with ya..
Condolences to all the family."

Funeral arrangements

Reposing in R. Healy & Son Funeral Home Pollerton Castle on Tuesday evening from 3pm followed by removal at 6.45pm to the Church of the Holy Family, Askea to arrive for 7pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 2pm. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
