Edgar McFADDEN - Staplestown, Carlow / Cootehill, Cavan - Monday 3rd February 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Edgar McFadden of Church Road, Staplestown, Carlow and formerly of Kill, Cootehill, Cavan

Edgar passed away peacefully at the Mater Hospital, Dublin on Monday 3rd of February 2025.

Beloved husband of Evelyne and much loved father of Gordon, Carol, Linda and Nigel. Sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughters, son-in-law Adrian, daughters-in-law Mary and Jill, grandchildren Grace, Daniel, Luke and Keira, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Predeceased by his brothers Arnold and Ivor.

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Sincere sympathy to Evelyne and all the family in the sad passing of your beloved husband and father Edgar. Thinking of you at this sad time. Rest in peace Edgar Breeda Hayden and family"

Another reads:

"Sincerest condolences to all the McFadden family on the sad passing of Edgar." Far from the madding crowd. His sober wishes never learned to stray. Along the cool sequestered vale of life. He kept the noiseless tenor of his way. Large was his bounty and his soul sincere. He gained from Heaven....t'was all he wished...a friend " Ar dheis de go raibh a ainm."

Funeral arrangements

Reposing at his home (R93 KV60) on Thursday from 3pm concluding with prayers at 6pm (house private outside of reposing times, please). Funeral Service on Friday at 1pm in Staplestown Church, Carlow R93 W566. Burial afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.
