'A great family man' Tributes paid following the passing of local Carlow man

Seamus Cummins - Upper Tomard, Leighlinbridge, Carlow - Saturday 29th March 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Seamus Cummins of Upper Tomard, Leighlinbridge, Carlow and formerly of Wells, Royal Oak and Monemore, Bagenalstown.

Seamus passed away at his home on March 29th 2025.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Mary, sons Derek, Kieran, Graham, Aidan, Jonas and James, his loving daughters Marlene, Martina and Lorraine, daughters-in-law Lorna and Amy grandchildren Katie- Maí, Josh and Sam, his brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces, family friends and neighbours, and his faithful companion his dog Boo.

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"I’m sorry to hear this sad news. Always so nice to meet him wheeling his bike, with a contented looking child or two on board, he always had a smile and a pleasant word. I always thought of him as a great family man.
I hope lovely memories keep you all going through these tough times."

Another reads:

"May Seamus rest in eternal peace in Heaven.. Thank you and your family for all your kindness.. Until we all meet again, May Jesus and Mary hold you close to their hearts Seamus"

Funeral Arrangements.

Seamus' remains will repose in Somers Funeral Home Bagenalstown (Eircode R21 DY66) on Friday afternoon from 3.30pm to 8.pm, with Funeral Prayers at 6.pm.

Removal on Saturday Morning arriving at St. Lazerian’s Church Leighlinbridge for Funeral Mass at 11oc. Burial afterwards in Wells Cemetery Royal Oak.
