Houses searched and persons arrested as 4 scrambler bikes cause damage across Carlow Town

Carlow Gardaí have made two arrests following two properties being searched by court order over 4 unregistered scrambler bikes driving through Carlow on Tuesday the 25th of March 2025.

The drivers of the bikes were causing damage to public planters, flowers and flower beds around the Carlow.

The Carlow Gardaí wrote on their Facebook page saying:

"An Garda Síochána in Carlow would like to thank the public for their support as part of the Garda investigation into four unregistered scrambler bikes driving through Carlow town on Tuesday, 25th March at 10pm, causing damage to public planting, flowers and flower beds in various parts of Carlow town."

"By way of progress, two houses have since been searched under Court warrant, property seized and two persons arrested. Both persons were detained in Carlow Garda Station today, Friday, 28th March and interviewed as part of investigation process. Both were later released without charge."

Carlow Gardaí's Superintendent, Anthony Farrell has also made an appeal to anyone else who has any information that may support the investigation to contact the Carlow Garda Station at 059 913 6620.

The Gardaí have also warned that "Wreckless driving of unregistered quad bikes contrary to road traffic legislation through Carlow town will not be tolerated, especially during hours of darkness."
