Tributes paid to Carlow man who was an 'absolute gentleman' following his passing

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Seamus Esmonde of Ballintrane, Fenagh, Carlow.

Seamus passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny on Monday the 31st of March 2025.

Beloved husband of Marie and much loved father of James, Barbara, Caroline and Marie. Sadly missed by his loving wife, son, daughters, sister Maureen, son-in-law Jim, daughter-in-law Gráinne, Marie’s partner Michael, adored grandchildren Lilia, Shauna, Daisy, Síobhán, Paul, Grace and Jimmy, extended family, relatives and friends.

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Sincere condolences to Marie and Family on your sad loss. Seamus was always an absolute gentleman to deal with. May he now Rest In Eternal Peace."

Another reads:

"Our deepest sympathies to Marie, James and all the Esmonde family on the death of Seamus. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam."

Funeral Arrangements.

Reposing in R. Healy & Son Funeral Home Pollerton Castle, Carlow (R93 H308) on Thursday (April 3rd) from 3pm followed by removal at 6.45pm to St. Patrick’s Church, Rathoe, Co. Carlow (R93 D430) to arrive for 7.30pm. Funeral Mass on Friday (April 4th) at 12noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
