Tommy O’Toole - Carlow, Kildare - Saturday 17th May 2025
Tributes have been paid following the passing of Tommy O’Toole of Oakview, Athy Road, Carlow and formerly of Kilkea, Kildare.
Tommy passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on May 17th 2025, in St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, after a short illness.

Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Ellen, sister Kathy and brother-in-law Christy.
Beloved partner of Jeannine, much loved father of Joanna and Ger, adored grandfather of Connor, Rohan, and Sarah and cherished brother of Helena, Jennifer, Geraldine and Johnny.
He will be sadly missed by his loving partner, son, daughter, grandchildren, son-in-law John, Ger’s partner Stacy, brother, sisters, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows:
"So sorry to hear of Tommy's passing. I learned so much from him on the pitch in Kilkea...some good stuff, some bad stuff!!A gentleman who always had time to talk to us younger lads starting out with the team and always funny!!A legend in my life, a friend who would always stop for a chat about the old days and about our common club Chelsea. Rest in peace Tooler!"
Another reads:
"Sincere sympathies to Jennifer, Geraldine, Johnny, Helena ,and to Tommy's partner and his children and grandchildren and all his family. Thinking of you all at this sad time. May he rest in peace."
Funeral Arrangements
Reposing at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq (Eircode R93 C863) on Monday (May 19th) from 4pm, concluding with Prayers at 7pm that evening. Removal from there on Tuesday morning at 9.45am in The Cathedral of the Assumption, Carlow, arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am. Burial afterwards in Coltstown Cemetery, Castledermot, Co Kildare.
