RIP: Tributes paid to Carlow woman who was a 'beautiful lady' following her passing

Marie O'NEILL (née Quinlan) - Carlow Town - Wednesday 28th May 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Marie O’Neill (née Quinlan) of Roncalli Place and formerly Kilkenny Road, Carlow.

Marie passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on May 28th 2025, at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny.

Beloved wife of the late Michael Snr and much loved mother of Joe, Caroline, Michael, Pat, Peter and Ashling.

She will be sadly missed by her loving sons, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, son-in-law, Ger, daughters-in-law Josie and Ellen, sister Peggy, brother-in-law Johnny, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"My Deepest sympathy to Joe ,Ashling Caroline Pat Michael Peter Peggy and ext Family on the sad loss of your Mammy a beautiful lady always had a lovey smile loved to have a chat may her Gentle Soul Rest in Peace"

Another reads:

"Our sincere condolences to Caroline, Ger, Kostya, Pavel and all the O’Neill family on the sad passing of Your Mam and grandmother. We enjoyed meeting her in Castletown over the years and she was a lovely lady. May she rest in peace."

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq (Eircode R93 C863) on Friday (May 30th) from 4pm, concluding with Prayers at 7.30pm that evening. Removal from there on Saturday morning at 10.30am in The Holy Family Church, Askea, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am.Funeral afterwards to St Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow (via her residence) for burial
