'An absolute lady' - Tributes pour in for beloved Graiguecullen woman following her passing

Bridget Hand of Fr. Byrne Park, Graiguecullen, Carlow

Tributes have poured in following the death of Bridget Hand (née Carolan) of 25 Fr. Byrne Park, Graiguecullen, Carlow.

Mrs Hand sadly passed away on Saturday, 5 July at home surrounded by her family.

The Graiguecullen woman, who was formerly of Mageny, Barrowhouse, Co Kildare, was the wife of the late Eamonn Hand and mother of Sylvia, Jacinta, Nicholas, Jason and Kenneth. Mrs Hand had three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. 

According to her RIP.ie notice: "She will be sadly missed by her loving sons, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchild, sister, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends."

Since her passing, many have taken to share kind words about Mrs Hand online as well as to express their deepest condolences with her family.

Among the many sincere tributes, one person wrote: "The most beautiful kind hearted woman I had the pleasure to know." 

Another said: "She was a lady and a lovely neighbour."

Someone else simply put: "Mrs Hand was a true lady."

All of the comments echoed the same message, Mrs Hand was an "absolute lady" that would be sadly missed in Graiguecullen.

Mrs Hand's funeral mass will take place at 11.30am on Tuesday morning, 8 July. Burial will take place afterwards in Killeshin Cemetery.
