Carlow contestant Seán C survives another night in Slane Castle despite the faithfuls making a costly mistake

Carlow's Seán C has survived another tense night inside Slane Castle as the latest episode of The Traitors Ireland saw the faithfuls make a costly mistake at the round table, after a run of success.

The 33 year old call centre trainer remains in the competition as a faithful, following an episode which ended with Dublin contestant David Moran being banished from the game.

However, the group soon discovered they had made the wrong decision, with David revealing that he was a faithful.

The latest banishment represents another setback for Seán and the remaining faithfuls, who are now under increasing pressure to identify the traitors before they are murdered by one.

The episode began with the players discovering that another contestant, Sam, had been murdered overnight.

The murder came after a major shake up in the Castle, with Carla recruiting Pauric O, 31 year old musician from Tipperary, to join her as a Traitor.

With the new alliance in place, the Traitors turned their attention to their next target, leaving the faithfuls trying to work out who could be trusted.

The episodes challenge was a game of ‘saints and sinners’ with the remaining contestants split into groups of saints and sinners.

Seán C was in the group of sinners, who we’re all assigned a deadly sin.

The challenge was designed to test how well the players knew each other. They had to use clues about the sinners personalities and behaviour to figure out which sin best matched each person.

Seán sin was revealed to be a “glutton for gossip”, which he revealed to be “insulted and happy” about.

The sinneers group ultimately managed to win €2,000, although the final prize pot was reduced to €1,800 after the saints were given the opportunity to take a shield for themselves in exchange for €200 from the pot.

Suspicion eventually centred on David as the players gathered around the round table.

Despite being a faithful, David was unable to convince the group, including Seán, that he was innocent and was ultimately banished from the castle.

His departure prompted an emotional reaction from the remaining contestants, with David warning them to "keep your eyes open" after revealing his true allegiance.

Host Siobhán McSweeney pointed out the significance of the result, telling the players that they had banished a "very good faithful,” exactly what the Traitors wanted.

For Seán C, the result means he remains in the running for the prize, but with the faithfuls having once again eliminated one of their own, the pressure is on.

The Carlow contestant has already made his mark on the series, previously helping to build the case against Traitor Fionula and surviving several tense round tables.

Earlier in the series, Seán also revealed his strategy of keeping his head down at the round table and only speaking when necessary, while privately building up his suspicions.

His approach has so far helped him remain in the game as the numbers continue to fall.

With another Traitor now added to the mix, Seán and the remaining faithfuls face a tough challenge.

The question now is whether Seán can continue to stay under the radar, or whether the Traitors will decide that the Carlow contestant has become too dangerous to leave in the castle.
