Want to go to the Ryder Cup at Adare Manor for free? Carlow volunteers wanted for 2027

With tickets hard to come by, Carlow people who would like to get a taste of the action at the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor are being encouraged to apply to be a volunteer at the marquee event.

Applications are now open to become a volunteer for the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in County Limerick, offering the chance to be part of one of the world’s greatest sporting events as it celebrates its 100th anniversary.

There will be two types of volunteer roles available, with the traditional on-course Marshal role joined by a new-look ‘Ambassador’ role that will support the overall fan experience and the smooth running of the event.

There will be approximately 2,000 roles available and more than 24,000 people have already registered their interest in applying for voluntary roles via the Ryder Cup website. Those who registered their interest will be contacted directly via email by Ryder Cup Europe in the coming days to complete the application form.

Applicants can initially apply for an Ambassador or Marshal role and will be notified in August 2026 whether their application was successful. Further details on their specific role at the event will then follow in November 2026.

Ambassadors will be recruited to help deliver legendary Irish hospitality to the thousands of fans visiting from around the world. They will be stationed at key locations - from transport hubs across County Limerick to the entrances to the golf course and key locations on-site such as the Fan Village - where they will guide visitors, answer questions and help create memorable experiences. No golf knowledge or experience is needed, just enthusiasm and a collaborative mindset.

Marshals play a vital role in the day-to-day operations across the golf course, helping ensure the smooth operation of play. This includes providing guidance and support in key areas such as grandstands, individual holes of play, accessibility areas, and managing on-course transport requirements. This role would suit confident communicators who enjoy working as part of a team and have a good understanding of golf to help deliver a world-class experience.

Kit Gartrell, Ryder Cup Event Delivery Director at the European Tour Group, said: “The 2027 Ryder Cup will be the biggest sporting event that Ireland has ever staged and the world will be watching.

“Our volunteers will have the opportunity to be at the heart of this iconic event and be part of history. We have already had more than 24,000 expressions of interest in these roles on our website, which shows the passion for the event.

“For our Ambassador role, we want to encourage applications from a diverse pool of people to showcase the country’s famously warm and welcoming hospitality to the thousands of visitors from across the globe who will visit the region.

“Applications are also live for the hugely important Marshal role. The country has a strong track record of hosting major international golf tournaments, with a strong network of Marshals already in existence as a result. We want to tap into this expertise, and identify new talent, to make sure the 2027 Ryder Cup delivers a best-in-class experience for players and fans.”

The 2027 Ryder Cup will be the iconic event’s 100th anniversary match and will take place at Adare Manor in County Limerick, from 13-19 September 2027. It will be the second time that Ireland has hosted the event, following the K Club in Kildare in 2006.

Applications for both roles are officially open and close on April 1, 2026. You can apply via the dedicated volunteer page on the Ryder Cup website here.
