The Carlow under-16s advanced to the final of the Leinster Championship following a four-point win over Kilkenny in Tullaroan on Bank Holiday Monday.

Leinster Under 16 B Championship Semi Final
Lily Jones opened the scoring for Carlow with a point from play after two minutes.
Kilkenny were ahead when Sarah Jane Morrissey flicked the sliotar to the back of the net after the initial shot by Emily Shortall was saved by the Carlow defence.
Emily Shortall and Molly Cummins added points for Kilkenny to put them 1-2 to 0-1 ahead after six minutes.
Roisin Joyce narrowed the gap with a pointed free for Carlow.
In the 15th minute Molly Cummins took a shot towards the Carlow goal, it dropped short but Sarah Jane Morrissey got her second goal when she doubled on the sliotar and it flew into the back of the net.
Roisin Joyce and Siobhan Kenny then traded pointed frees.
Molly Kavanagh and Roisin Joyce added points for Carlow before Siobhan Kenny and Alice Dalton swapped points.
Just on the stroke of half time Carlow got a lifeline, Roisin Joyce hit a rasper of a shot at the Kilkenny goal. The Kilkenny goalie tried to save it but there was such power in the shot that it flew off her hurl and into the net to leave the score 2-4 to 1-6 at the interval in favour of the home side.
On the resumption of play, Abhainn Coady ran at the Kilkenny defence, she laid off the sliotar to Roisin Joyce, who was fouled in the square and a penalty was awarded. Joyce stood up to take the resulting penalty one on one with the Kilkenny goalie and Ella Hoyne deflected it over the bar to level the match.
Molly Cummins put Kilkenny ahead again in the 39th minute with a point from play before Roisin Joyce equalised for Carlow with a pointed free. The visitors then scored 1-1 through Roisin Joyce to put them four ahead.
Over the next eight minutes, both defences stood firm without adding to their respective tallies.
Niamh Meagher scored Kilkenny’s last point in the 57th minute before Roisin Joyce finished the scoring with a pointed free for Carlow to leave them four point winners.
Carlow now advance to the Leinster Under 16 B Cup Final.
