Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow thunderstorm warning for multiple counties today (May 8).
According to the meteorological service, thunderstorms are likely this afternoon and evening in Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wicklow, and Tipperary.
Potential impacts include spot flooding and hazardous driving conditions.
The alert is in place from 12pm noon today to 9pm tonight.
