Carlow County Council, in partnership with Carlow Community Enterprise Centres, is proposing to convert the property into a Community & Enterprise Centre
A PUBLIC consultation process is underway regarding the proposed development of the former Presentation Convent in Bagenalstown, County Carlow.
Carlow County Council, in partnership with Carlow Community Enterprise Centres, is proposing to convert the property into a Community & Enterprise Centre which will be known as Presentation House, Bagenalstown.
In a public notice, the local authority says it hopes to retain as much of the existing building fabric and building interior layout as possible with minimal work to the exterior of the building.
In addition to works on the building, a 30metre2 section of the building at the South-East corner is proposed to be demolished to facilitate traffic movements to the rear parking area.
An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Preliminary Examination, and an Appropriate Assessment Screening, for the proposed development have been completed and are available for inspection.
The detailed plans and particulars for the proposed development can be viewed online or during office hours by appointment only at the Carlow County Council offices at Athy Road.
Any submissions or observations in relation to the proposed development, must be submitted via the online portal, by email or in writing by July 10.
