Calling Carlow Artists: Carlow County Council to fund mural at Potato Market Carlow

Carlow County Council are calling upon local artists to submit a proposal for the painting of the wall of the Carlow Exchange located Potato Market, Carlow.

Artists or arts groups working in the medium of visual art, mural art, exterior wall painting, design, collaborative or community engaged practice are invited to submit a proposal for the development of an outdoor artistic mural that will be on full display to the public of Carlow.

The commissioned work must have a dual role – to bring colour and wonder to the exchange visitors while also communicating a message of “Exchange” which is the primary focus of the space. 

The artist(s) chosen will receive a commission of between €4,000 and €10,000, depending on the artist’s experience and the scale and complexity of the artwork.

Artists may submit proposals to the Enterprise Office of Carlow County Council by 5pm on 12th August 2023.
