WHAT'S ON: Carlow Garden Festival commences this week with a free event

Carlow Garden Festival takes place from Saturday 29th July to Saturday 5th August.

The festival will bring with it a variety of events over the course of the week from nature and tree trails, biodiversity workshops and garden visits as well as appearances from tv and radio presenters and international garden designers. 

The week long festival kicks off with a free event hosted by Dr. Norman McMillan in The Garden of Remembrance in Leighlinbridge at 2pm on Saturday.

John Tyndall, one of the greatest scientists of the Victorian era was born in Leighlinbridge. 

Dr. Norman McMillan will explain Tyndall's worldwide contribution to biodiversity, science and mountaineering and will touch on the relevance of Tyndall's teachings in today's world.

Dr. Norman McMillan will also provide helpful tips for gardening with biodiversity in mind.
