Carlow Castle significance in the development of Carlow town

Carlow Castle played a vital part in the development of Carlow town. 

As part of National Heritage Week 2023, Prof. Tadhg O'Keeffe will host a talk discussing the significance of Carlow Castle.

Tadhg O'Keeffe is a Professor in the School of Archaeology at University College, Dublin.

He is a specialist in medieval architecture and has published numerous books and essays.

He will also speak about some of the features of the castle and the associations between Carlow Castle and other castles across both the county and country.

'Let's Talk Castles' is an open air lunchtime talk that will take place on Tuesday 15th August from 1pm -2pm at Carlow Castle
Mill Lane, Carlow Town.

The event is free and all are welcome to attend.
