Carlow hosts GAA, racing, sports and TV stars for Hurling for Cancer Research 2023

In aid of Irish Cancer Society, Hurling for Cancer Research 2023 will take place in Carlow on Monday 21st August.

Horse racing’s Jim Bolger and Davy Russell have announced their star-studded teams for Hurling for Cancer Research.

A plethora of sports stars have been confirmed for the must-see battle between the two teams with Wexford and Kilkenny legends Liam Griffin and Brian Cody acting as Bainisteoirs.

Some of Ireland’s top hurlers and jockeys have been confirmed for the match, including the biggest Carlow names.

On Davy Russell’s Team, Carlow players James Doyle and Marty Kavanagh will compete. On hand as substitutes are Carlow stars Chris Nolan and Séan O’Brien.

While on Jim Bolger’s Team, Carlow's Cian Kelly is named as substitute.

TV stars such as  Miriam O’Callaghan and Marty Morrissey will also be there on the day to lend a hand as selectors, commentators, side-line officials, umpires and maor uisce.

Gates will open at Netwatch Cullen Park from 4pm this evening, with mini-matches taking place 5pm-5.30pm and throw in is scheduled for 6pm. 

Tickets costing €10 for adults and €15 for families are available on the gate and from www.HurlingForCancer.ie.
