Revealed: Thirty-six adults accessing emergency accommodation in Carlow
The July 2023 Homeless Report has been published by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
The report details a total of 9,018 adults are accessing emergency accommodation across the country.
This report focus on the number of adults accessing local authority managed emergency accommodation during the week of 24th - 30th July 2023.
As expected Dublin had the highest figure of homelessness with a whopping 73% of all adults accessing emergency accommodation doing so in the capital.
The county of Carlow reported thirty-six homeless. This is the lowest figure in the South-East region with 242 people accessing emergency accommodation across the counties of Carlow, Kilkenny, Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford.
According to the report, the majority of people experiencing homelessness (54%) are aged between 25 - 40 years old.
