Carlow woman to take part in second challenge at The Curragh Racecourse
Eimear O'Gorman from Carlow is set to take on her second challenge as part of 'The Corinthian Challenge' in aid of Irish Injured Jockeys.
Eimear O’Gorman is from a farming family in Carlow where she grew up riding ponies and has been working in the racing industry for over seventeen years.
The Corinthian Challenge Series comprises of three races at Naas, The Curragh, and Leopardstown Racecourses over a three month period from August to October.
In addition Eimear has been tasked wit a further challenge to raise €10,000 for benefitting charity Irish Injured Jockeys.
This year’s other Corinthian Challengers include Martina Dempsey, Niamh Ashe, Damien Moore, Vivienne Connolly, Katy Brown, Anna Cropper, Jansseen Hill, Michael O’Neill, Darren Dunne, Aimee Murphy, Abigail Reilly and Hazel Smith.
Speaking on the upcoming race Michael Higgins, General Manager of Irish Injured Jockeys said “We are thrilled that Eimear is taking part in the 2023 Corinthian Challenge and wish her every success throughout the entire series. She is without doubt already a winner in our eyes ever since that very first day when she signed up for the challenge and we are most grateful of her support, commitment and enthusiasm for the series and for Irish Injured Jockeys.”
The second leg of the Corinthian Challenge Charity Race Series in aid of Irish Injured Jockeys will take place at The Curragh Racecourse this Sunday, September 24th.
