Carlow house prices rise while time taken to reach sale agreed is currently at six weeks
According to a new survey conducted by Real Estate Alliance, the price of the average second-hand three-bed semi property in County Carlow has risen. The cost has gone up 1.1% in the last three months - from €220,000 to €222,500.
Time taken to reach sale agreed is currently at six weeks in Carlow Town
Harry Sothern, REA Sothern, Carlow Town said “This quarter we are seeing semi-detached homes still selling very well, with mid-range detached homes selling a little slower.”
“The market has been slow to pick up after the summer holidays and the return to school.”
In Tullow, prices rose 1.4% this quarter to €225,000, and time to sell in the area is currently averaging at four weeks.
“Stock levels remain low, and we are seeing well-finished three-bedroomed houses in good condition sell quickly,” said Matthew Conry, REA Dawson, Tullow.
The REA Average House Price Index concentrates on the actual sale price of the three-bed semi home.
The actual selling price of a three-bed, semi-detached house across the country rose to €301,370 exceeding the €300,000 mark for the first time since 2007.
House prices in large towns across Ireland rose by 2% in the past three months and are increasing at twice the rate of Dublin and other cities.
According to the research by REA, 57% of the sales across the country are first-timer buyers, a figure that has risen dramatically to 85% in Wicklow, Meath and North County Dublin as mortgage-approved buyers hunt for property within their price range.
