A pup found in an appalling condition has now been taken into the care of Kilkenny/Carlow Dog Shelter.
"This poor pup was found in Kilkenny and has just come into our care," reads a statement from the shelter.
The dog was covered in mange, malnourished, walking in fleas, had a belly full of worms and was not microchipped.
"If you are the owner contact us, this pup is a welfare case and the relevant bodies have been notified."
