More than 3,400 students in Carlow have signed up for Maths Week 2023

Maths Week 2023 kicks off in Carlow on Saturday 14th October and continues until Sunday 22nd October.

Maths Week is the national STEM promotion initiative supported by the Department of Education and Science Foundation Ireland. The initiative takes place in every county across the country.

In Carlow alone there are more than 3,414 pupils already signed up and ready to immerse themselves in a week of mathematical exploration.

The week celebrates maths with an array of events and activities for all. Over the course of the week, students, educators, and maths enthusiasts of all ages in Carlow can engage in interactive workshops, puzzles, games, and competitions, all designed to make maths enjoyable and accessible.

Eoin Gill, Maths Week Ireland Co-Ordinator, expressed his excitement, stating, "We aim to dispel any myths about maths being boring or inaccessible by offering a range of engaging activities that demonstrate its relevance and practicality. With the enthusiastic participation of over 3,414 pupils in Carlow, this year's Maths Week promises to be an unforgettable experience."
