Carlow's captivating culture and identity will be featured on RTÉ Radio 1's 'The County Measure' with writer and broadcaster Vincent Woods on New Year's Day, Tuesday 1st January 2024, at 11am.
The County Measure is an RTÉ Radio 1 series that explores the identity and communities of Ireland's thirty-two counties.
The County Measure will explore the vibrant arts, history, heritage and diverse communities of County Carlow, 'the dolmen county'.
"The quiet splendour of landscape and place, the unique history that translates into the iconic ballad 'Follow Me up to Carlow', the warmth and wit of Carlow people - it all makes for a rich and rousing measure, a perfect way to start mapping the new year in all its light and weathers, " says Vincent Woods.
Local musician and songwriter, Laura Quirke from Mount Leinster, will perform an exclusive song on the radio show. The County Measure will also feature an original piece of writing from Borris writer and journalist Sarah Breen (co-author of the Aisling series, 'Oh My God, What a Complete Aisling')
