Carlow darts player Steve Lennon comes up against one of the big hitters in the second round of the World Darts Championship at London's Alexandra Palace this weekend.

Lennon, who staged a sensational comeback against England's Owen Bates on Wednesday, won his first round tie 3-2 after being 2-0 down.

'The Ferret' Jonny Clayton now stands in the way of Lennon on Saturday afternoon (December 23).

Clayton, ranked number nine in the world, will be heavy favourites going into the Ally Pally fixture. The game is expected to get underway at roughly 2.40pm.

The World Darts Championship can be watched live on Sky Sports throughout Christmas.
