A Carlow boys secondary school has scored on the triple for the 2024 Leaving Cert, for the number of students reaching over 600 points.
The new principal at St Mary's College in Knockbeg, John Maye spoke to the on results day.
"St Mary's College Knockbeg want to congratulate all 82 students who received their Leaving Cert results today, including three from our ASD classes.
"The results were of the highest calibre with three students gaining over 600 points. The results are a testament to the hard work and dedication of the teachers, SNAs, parents and guardians," he said.
Some 15 of the Leaving Cert year came into school on the morning, with the others opting to view their results online at home.
The recently retired principal Mike Carew also came in, handing out some of the results himself.
Mr Maye took up his role in recent weeks, having previously been principal at Duiske College in Graiguenamanagh.
"It was an absolute privilege to hand out the results here. It's a high point for students and the school, it's one of the key moments in everyone's life and gets quite a lot of attention.
"I wish the best of luck to all the boys. They will always be members of the Knockbeg community and we hope to see lots of them in the future at past pupil events. And we are always here for them with advice," Mr Maye said.
