Carlow County Council has announced that Tullow Municipal District will be temporary traffic restrictions on the N80 Carlow to Wexford Road, between Castletown Cross and Graiguespiddoge Cross on Thursday the 19th December 2024, from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

The information comes from Carlow Council Community Information page:

"The Tullow Municipal District Office of Carlow County Council gives advance notice that there shall be temporary traffic restrictions on the N80 Carlow to Wexford Road, between Castletown Cross and Graiguenaspiddoge Cross, on Thursday 19th December 2024, from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

These traffic restrictions shall be in the form of manned stop/go stations together with a controlled shuttle convoy system in between. This is to facilitate road drainage improvement works on this section of that roadway which does not have hard shoulders/sufficiently wide verges and so shall require temporary single lane closures to safely accommodate the works machinery and operatives.

This shall cause significant delays to road users and so this notice is advising people intending to use this route to allow themselves extra travelling time.

All traffic restrictions shall be removed as soon as it is safe enough for all to do so. The Tullow Municipal District Office apologises for the inconvenience that these restrictions shall cause."
