RIP: 'Always glamorous'- Tributes paid to Carlow woman who sadly died

RIP Goretti Maher McGrath

Tributes have poured in after a well-known woman from Carlow sadly died recently.

Goretti Maher McGrath (née Nicholson) was from Ouragh Road, Tullow, Carlow and passed peacefully at her home on Friday September 19th, surrounded by her family and with the care and assistance of Carlow Kilkenny Home Care Team and family friend and nurse Nicola Bolger.

She is deeply loved by her husband Daniel, Daughters Elaine and Olivia, granddaughters Leyla and Ruth, grandson Tommy, son in law's Gavin and James and Lulu the beloved dog. Sisters Olive, Patsy and Lily and brothers Michael and Joe.

Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Goretti, with one mourner writing,

"Elaine and Olivia, I am so sorry for your loss. Your mam was a great woman who will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Thinking of you both and Danny, Leyla, Tommy and Ruth at this very sad time. May Goretti rest in peace

Another message said, "Deepest sympathies to Elaine, Olivia and the extended Maher, McGrath and Nicholson families. Fond memories of the always glamorous Gret in Moanmore getting ready for a Saturday night out, or hosting birthday parties for Elaine and Olivia. May she rest in peace."

"So sorry to hear Goretti has passed. Such a lovely person she was. So kind and compassionate. Condolences to all her family who loved her as she loved them. Rest in Peace Gotetti," another person said.
