RIP Frank Kavanagh
Tributes have poured in for a Carlow man who sadly died recently in hospital, remembered fondly by many in his community.
Francis (Frank) Kavanagh was from Carlow Town and formerly of Bridewell Lane in Carlow and passed away peacefully on 23rd September, 2025, at St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny.
Frank was the beloved father of Mary, Breda, John, Brian and Sandra, adored grandfather of Shannon, Brendan, Jack, Brian, Layla, Shawna, Craig, Eric, Leonna and the late Séan and cherished brother of Dan, Ned, John, Brigid and the late Marie.
He will be sadly missed by his loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren Sky and J.T, daughters-in-law Eileen and Vicky, sister, brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS:
A private Service will take place in Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq., Carlow (Eircode R93 C863) on Thursday (September 25th) and will be followed by burial in St Mary’s Cemetery.
Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and loved Frank, with one mourner writing,
"Our deepest condolences to all of the Kavanagh family on the passing of your dad Frank. May he rest in peace. Thinking of you all love from the Nolan family".

Another message said, "So sorry to hear of Frank's death. Deepest sympathy to his Family. Happy memories of Frank in his Rowing Club time in a very good School's Four in the early sixties coached by Bill Duggan. He was held in high regard in the motor industry as a first class mechanic who could solve any problem. May he Rest in Peace".
