RIP: Tributes paid to a kind, compassionate and special man from Carlow who sadly died

Tributes have poured following the passing of a Carlow man who died peacefully at St Luke's Hospital Kilkenny.

Danny Murphy was from John St in Carlow Town and died on 1st December 2025, predeceased by his sister Mary, brother Michael and his brother in law Mick.

Danny was the adored uncle of Mary, Michael, Daniel and James, also their partners Ger, Lucy and Trish, great nieces and nephews, extended family relatives and wide circle of friends

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS:

Reposing at Lacey's Funeral Home John St (R93 R8P4) on Wednesday 3rd December 2025 from 4pm until 7pm

Prayers in Lacey's Funeral Home at 2pm on Thursday with burial immediately afterwards in St Mary`s Cemetery Carlow

Family flowers only and donations can be made to Alzheimer's unit at Bethany House.

There will be a donation Box in the Funeral Home.

Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and loved Danny, with one mourner writing,

"So sorry to hear the news of Danny’s passing, Danny was such a gentleman and kind man, it was an honour to get to know him, thinking of you Paddy, Mary and Ger and family. from Laura, Mikayla and Alfie".

Another message said, "Sincere condolences to Mary, Michael, Daniel, James and all the family on the passing of Danny. He was an amazing, kind man who had time for everyone and especially all us kids growing up in the street. I will never forget his kindness and compassion to Mammy (Ethel) and David. Danny was a special man. May his gentle soul rest in peace".

"Heartbreaking news. Danny was always an absolute gent when we worked together in Cahill May Roberts. Thinking of his family and friends at this very difficult time. Rest is peace Danny," another person said.
