An "invaluable" service in Carlow recently marked the massive milestone of 30 years in operation.
The Carlow Rape Crisis Centre first opened its doors in 1995 and since then has "worked tirelessly towards lessening the impact and incidence of sexual violence and abuse."
The Centre works with survivors of sexual abuse and trauma through counselling, mediation, and a helpline.
In its 30 years of service, the Carlow Rape Crisis Centre went on to develop services that serve Kildare and other surrounding counties.

Carlow TD, Jennifer Murnane O'Connor, visited the Centre to mark the special occasion.
"For three decades the Centre has served the Carlow community with kindness, compassion and empathy. Supporting survivors of sexual violence and providing the services they need. Well done to this invaluable service in our community. Thanks also to all who support them in their work towards a society which no longer tolerates sexual violence and abuse," she posted on Facebook afterwards.
The Carlow Rape Crisis Centre works towards ending the cultural and societal tolerance of sexual violence through raising awareness.
