Rest in Peace Jason
Tributes have poured in following the tragic death of a father of four and husband-to-be from Carlow who was known and loved by many.
Jason (Jay) Donnarumma (Thorpe) was from 119 Riverview Close, Carlow and formerly of Southampton, England and he passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on February 13th, 2026 in St Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin.
Beloved son of Janet, much loved father of Martina, T.J, Becky and Josh, adored fiancée of Bernie and cherished brother Julie, Michelle, Lucy, Christian, Heidi, Tracy and Darran.
He will be sadly missed by his loving mother, brothers, sisters, fiancée, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncle Vincent, nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and loved Jason, with one mourner writing,
"I'll miss all the good times we've had over the years working on car's and bike's together haven a laugh watching movies I'll cherish all the memories we had until we met again some day rest in peace my good friend (JAY) thinking of you always man you'll forever have a place whit me and in my thoughts your gone for now but you will never ever be forgotten fly high my good friend".
Jason's son paid tribute to him with a message that said:
"I love you so much dad, thanks for everything, thanks for always being there for me. I will always remember you and think of you. You’re the best Dad anyone could ever ask for. I will make sure your name and legacy will live on until the end of time. Your future grandkids will always hear your name in conversations. Thank you Dad for being the best Dad. Thank you Dad for raising the man you did today, I love you more than you will ever know, thank you for being my Dad because there is no one like you, you’re the best Dad. I will see you again and I will give you the biggest hug, you succeeded for being the best Dad. I love you so much Dad, I will see you in Heaven someday. Greatest Dad ever".
"Miss you more than words can say. My heart is broken. Forever missed and loved Jay," another message said.
