This Saturday, 11th April 2026, Carlow County Council, in association with the Pan Celtic Festival, is proud to announce the return of Streetfest. This vibrant celebration promises to transform Lower Tullow Street into a hub of cultural activity, family entertainment, and community spirit, marking a high point in this year’s festival calendar.
The event features a comprehensive lineup of attractions designed to engage visitors of all ages. From 12:00pm to 4:00pm, the street will host interactive creativity stations including professional face painting and balloon modelling. The atmosphere will be further elevated between 1:00pm and 3:00pm as stilt walkers and iconic cartoon characters circulate through Tullow Street, offering unique meet-and-greet opportunities for families and festival-goers.

Speaking on the significance of the event, Mayor of Carlow, Cllr. Paul Doogue said: "I am delighted to see Streetfest return in partnership with the Pan Celtic Festival.
"It provides a wonderful opportunity for families to come together, enjoy our local hospitality, and experience the unique cultural energy that defines Carlow. By pedestrianising Tullow Street, we are creating a safe, joyous space for everyone to enjoy the very best of our community spirit."
Throughout the day, a wide array of attractions will be fully operational, including a classic Carousel ride, a Land Train, and a dedicated gaming zone featuring a Boom Ball shooting gallery, carnival games, and giant "4 In A Row." A professional PA system will ensure the festival remains lively with a curated music selection and regular event updates.
In addition to the family-oriented fairground, the festival honours its Celtic roots through the Pan Celtic Busking Competition, which will fill the air with live music. For those looking to experience Carlow’s evening economy, the Heineken Pub Trail will offer a guided journey through the town's best-loved establishments.

To facilitate the festivities, Tullow Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 12:00pm on Friday until 12:00pm on Sunday. Carlow County Council invites all residents and visitors to join in this celebration of culture, music, and fun.
