Man 'roaring and shouting' with a hammer demands cash from staff at a shop in Carlow Town
Gardaí are searching for a man who made demands with a hammer while "roaring and shouting" at a shop in Carlow Town last Friday evening.
In what has been described as a "serious" incident, Gardaí say the man entered the premises on Staplestown Road just after 7pm last week.
"He produced a hammer and made demands for cash from the staff, so after getting some cash he left the scene," Garda Niamh Doran told KCLR.
She added that they are still trying to track down those responsible, and is appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
It appears from CCTV footage that the suspect was dressed in all black.

Gardaí are asking that anyone who was in the Staplestown Road area between 7 and 7:30pm last Friday evening make dashcam footage available.
"Our colleagues in Carlow would really appreciate any help with that and their number is 059-9136620," Garda Doran said.
She added that the staff at the scene are not the only ones affected by such an incident, highlighting that is "an awful thing" for someone to come in "roaring and shouting and making demands" while customers are going about their business.
People are reminded not to approach someone in this situation, but to call 999.
