Gardaí are investigating the death of a Carlow woman who is said to have died "tragically."

Linda Costello, a mother of two, was found at a house in Graiguecullen on March 26th, just after 6am.

The 50-year-old was taken to St Luke's Hospital by ambulance, according to an article by BreakingNews.ie.

From there, she was rushed to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, but died in hospital last Friday.

A post-mortem examination has been conducted.

When Linda was found, she was unconscious and had bruising on one of her eyes, her chest, her arm, and her abdomen.

Blood was seen around her mouth and on her bedclothes.

A man in his 40s was arrested and detained in connection with the investigation.

He has since been released, and a file will be prepared for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí say their investigations are ongoing.

In her death notice, Linda, who is formerly from Castledermot, Co Kildare and Ballyboden, Dublin is described as dying "tragically."

She is survived by her children Ben and Amy, their father Larry, parents Ronnie and Patricia, sister Samantha, brother-in-law Keith, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, relatives and friends, particularly her "good friends Emma and Siobhan."

The funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.
