WATCH: Carlow represented at World Meeting of Families at the RDS in Dublin

Over 15,000 people from five continents are expected to attend the Congress daily

At the core of World Meeting of Families will be a four-day Congress at the Royal Dublin Society (RDS), Ballsbridge, one of the largest Conference Centres in Dublin which will run from August 22-25. 

Held every three years, this major international event brings together families from across the world to celebrate, pray and reflect and it will culminate in a mass said by Pope Francis in the Phoenix Park on August 26. 

Pilgrims will come from all over the world to participate in this celebratory event. Over 15,000 people from five continents are expected to attend the Congress at the RDS daily.

The Congress programme will include workshops and talks for adults and young people, fun activities for children, daily celebration of the Eucharist, prayerful activities, cultural events, musical performances and exhibitions.

Carlow Tourism are there representing the Dolmen County at stand 15 in the Main Hall where you can pick up a brand new copy of the Carlow - Trails of the Saints publication.

It features four exciting new additions including St. Columbanus' connection to the village of Myshall, St. Willibrord, patron saint of Luxembourg who studied in Carlow, Carlow County Museum and St. Patrick's Church, Rathvilly.

Also available will be general information on County Carlow and dedicated publications exploring St. Willibrord's and St. Columbanus' connections to Carlow, Carlow College/St.Patrick's along with a video of our three dedicated spiritual and ecclesiastical trails - St. Patrick's Trail, St. Laserian's Trail and St. Moling's Trail.
