President of Ireland congratulates Carlow's Eamonn Tracey on third World Ploughing title

President Michael D Higgins dishes out high praise for Eamonn's ploughing prowess

President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins, is among those who have congratulated Eamonn Tracey on his third World Ploughing Championships title. 

Garryhill man Eamonn is the new World Ploughing Champion after an outstanding performance in the Conventional Class at the World Ploughing Contest in Einsiedel, Germany last weekend. 

He reclaimed the Golden Plough after being narrowly defeated last year. 

While John Whelan from Wexford also secured silver place victory in the Reversible Class.
