Man who saw his stolen property for sale online contacted Carlow Gardaí who caught the thief

Victims of crime told to keep an eye out for stolen property online but to always contact Gardaí

A man who suspected that his stolen property was for sale online contacted Carlow Gardaí to let them know that he had arranged to meet the suspected thief at a car park in Tullow.


Gardaí arrived on the scene and recovered an industrial laser level and the rightful owner got his property back and a file has been prepared for the DPP in relation to the theft of the item. 

The owner was from the Midlands, the property was stolen in the South East and the meeting took place in Tullow. 

Gardaí said they would encourage people to keep an eye out for their stolen property. 

They added that if people notice anything for sale that is suspicious or that they believe may belong to them, to contact Carlow Gardaí immediately.
