Councillor claims social house in Carlow handed over to tenant with no front door

He has made representations to the local authority on behalf of the tenant

The front door is an important part of any house

A councillor has claimed that a social housing property in Carlow was handed over to a tenant with no front door.

Cllr Jim Deane made the comments at this month's meeting of Carlow Municipal District and he told members and the Council executive that he had been contacted by a person "who moved into a Council house with no external door on it". 

"I don't like saying it, I have made representations," he added. 

Housing Officer, Josephine Kavanagh, had a discussion with Cllr Deane about the property as she left the meeting.
