UPDATED: Status Yellow rainfall warning lifted for Carlow but more rain expected

Five counties were included in the warning

A Status Yellow rainfall warning for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow and Waterford has been lifted but more rain is expected. 

Heavy rain overnight saw between 20-30mm fall across the South East.

According to, more rain is expected over the coming days.

Forecaster Alan O'Reilly said: "Take it easy out there this morning with some spot flooding on roads.‬

"More rain expected over coming days and risk of some strong winds on Friday as charts show.

‪"If you think the weather is bad today the worse news is tomorrow looks worse with wet and windy weather arriving in the West tomorrow morning and moving East across the country."
